Abstract

The function to respect human rights is a responsibility for all companies, regardless of the sector they belong to; therefore, their business conduct must be fulfilled from the perspective of international standards in the sphere of human rights. Government has the obligation to supervise and, where appropriate, sanction companies to take actions to respect human rights, particularly if their activities represent a greater risk for priority groups, for example: for women, children and adolescents, the elderly, indigenous peoples and communities, people on the move and people with disabilities.
