Abstract

This work is a summary of some of Oscar Correas’s most relevant contributions to the analysis of human rights. The importance of his work lies in its ability to explain modern law in general and human rights in particular. The author’s work provides a perspective that crosses different disciplines to explain modern law as a phenomenon of power in capitalist society, and particularly a Marxist-based understanding of reality founded on the materialist conception of history.
